Minecraft versions

What the store does on each Minecraft version, and how to choose the right version in the dashboard.

Updated October 31, 2026.

All pages

Hasty works on Minecraft 1.8.9 and from 1.17 onwards. You choose the server's version in the dashboard, and Hasty builds the store for it.

Choose the version

In In-game menus, in the selector next to Templates, choose your server's version. The same choice shows up in Settings.

Once you choose:

  • The menu editor turns off what the version doesn't have, with the note "Available from Minecraft X".
  • The preview shows the store the way that version shows it.
  • The editor only offers items that exist in that version.

If the plugin reports a version different from the one you chose, the dashboard tells you and offers to switch.

From 1.9 to 1.16.5 neither plugin works.

Textures before 1.20.3

Before 1.20.3, players only use one texture pack from the server. If Hasty sent its own, yours would be replaced. So, on those versions:

  1. In In-game menus, click Download texture (.zip).
  2. Copy the assets folder from the zip into your server's texture pack.
  3. Publish the server's pack the way you already do.

Repeat this after changing a texture, a sound or a menu background.

Note: if both packs change the paper model (assets/minecraft/models/item/paper.json), merge the overrides lists of both files by hand.

Items that were renamed

Item Name in older versions
short_grass grass, before 1.20.3
turtle_scute scute, before 1.20.5

Hasty uses the right name for the chosen version. An item the version doesn't have shows up as paper.

Several servers with the same key

Every server that uses the same key gets the store for the chosen version. On a proxy with different versions, choose the oldest of them, or give each server its own key. 1.8.9 servers, with the legacy jar, always get the 1.8.9 store.

ViaVersion

With ViaVersion, a player whose game is older than the server doesn't get the texture pack and sees textured items as paper. Players with a newer game get it as usual.
